Eind maart is versie 0.7 van Clementine uitgekomen en en inmiddels is er alweer een update met enkele bugfixes verschenen. De speler kenmerkt zich door zijn gebruikersgemak, snelheid en vele mogelijkheden. Clementine wordt niet alleen voor Linux ontwikkeld, maar ook voor Windows en Mac OS X. Een groep ontwikkelaars is van deze versie uitgegaan en heeft een nieuwe mediaspeler ontwikkeld met de naam Clementine. Er is dan ook nog steeds een grote userbase voor versie 1.4. Sinds versie 2.0 is er een hoop aan deze speler veranderd en niet iedereen is daar even blij mee. Amarok is een populaire mediaspeler voor Linux.
